In a somewhat unusual move for Valve, the developer and publisher has decided to go ahead and publish dates for the next three sale periods for its Steam platform, going right up to the very start of 2022. In a post on Steamworks, the company has unveiled the dates of a number of events, with the next one being the Halloween sale, which is scheduled to begin on October 28, and going through until November 1. The next one is the Autumn sale, which will be between November 24 and November 30. And finally, the Winter sale will take gamers into next year, with the event running from December 22 until January 5.

The reason why this might be considered a little out of the ordinary for Valve, is that these events are often leaked ahead of time by a third party. More often than not, SteamDB will leak dates for Steam Sales, as well as other information about the platform, which are generally correct. Quite why Valve has decided to go ahead and publish the official dates itself is not too clear, but it’s certainly not an issue as now PC gamers know exactly when each sale will begin and end.

These are exciting times for gamers, especially as these Steam Sales will often discount some huge titles. At this current time, it’s unknown exactly which games will be due for a price slash, but with so many titles having come out recently, it’s possible that there will be some AAA entries on the list. No doubt gamers will have some ideas in their heads about what they wish to see included.

While Valve is busy marketing its upcoming Steam Deck handheld system, the company is still keeping things ticking over with its online PC games storefront. The Steam Sales are something of a tradition, and while it can’t be said exactly what people will be getting in the run-up to the end of the year, many gamers will find their library list of games growing over the next few weeks.
