Based on the cinematic trailer, Neon is an electricity-infused young woman who aspires to be one of Valorant’s top Agents. She listens to music and sings along into her toothbrush. She fills her living space with bright colors, plants, and a small basketball hoop. She also seems quite shy and bashful when the Agent Sage knocks on her door and tells her that the changes she’s made to the room are “beautiful.”

Official details regarding Neon’s kit are being held back for a later announcement, but Riot did provide some very overt footage hinting at what her in-game abilities will be. Neon appears to be able to sprint and then slide, though she doesn’t have her weapon out when she’s sprinting. She has a projectile that bounces and leaves a ground effect behind, and another ability that raises two walls to either side of her as if she’s making a track for her to run. Neon’s Ultimate looks like she’s able to activate it and shoot lighting out of her fingertips straight forward for a brief amount of time.

Neon will officially be the eleventh Agent and the fifth woman added to Valorant’s roster. She’s confirmed to be voiced by Filipino voice actor Vanille Velasquez, who has previous experience in games including Freak-Quency and Genesis.

As for when Valorant players can expect more information, it won’t be long. Valorant’s Episode 4: Act 1 is expected to arrive as soon as next week. Episode 3: Act 3 ends on January 11, so the next chapter should start immediately after. Neon, as well as other changes, additions, and a new battle pass, are expected with the transition.

Valorant continues to rapidly expand with new content, balance changes, rewards to earn, and more. Neon is just the latest example of continued robust post-launch support for Valorant. That said, Valorant players are likely wondering if Riot Games has something bigger in mind for Episode 4 and beyond.

Valorant is out now for PC.
