For FPS veterans, other games are often coded so that firing in mid-air isn’t pinpoint accurate. While Valorant also follows this rule, there’s an odd exception where the first shot after landing isn’t affected. Although this doesn’t seem gamebreaking at first sight, players are discovering there aren’t true counterplay options especially when certain guns are used.

On the Valorant subreddit, user EarthlingKira posted a detailed description of the exploit and videos from both sides. They explain that accuracy recovery time while using the Vandal or Phantom weapons is too short and results in instant headshots. In the first clip, EarthlingKira briefly fires at an airborne enemy before dying to a headshot, with the second slowed-down clip showing it happen at the exact moment the opponent touched the box.
Afterwards, the thread has gained significant traction with many community members agreeing that something needs to be changed before widespread use along with other issues heavily affect ranked play.
Valorant is available now on PC.
