A leaker and reddit user named u/FloxaY was able to provide an image that points to the eight different ranks that players will be able to climb through in Valorant competitive ranks. Those ranks are, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Immortal, and finally Valorant. Each ranking also has three levels that players will be able to tier up through. For example, a player would have to get from Silver I, II, and III before they would get to Gold I. The Valorant rank doesn’t have additional tiers, and the unranked level also doesn’t have additional tiers.
Originally Valorant wasn’t supposed to have ranked mode by launch, that was according to Valorant’s leading game designer Trevor “Classick” Romleski. But either plans have significantly changed, or the popularity of the game has multiplied the existence of leakers, and thus more eyes are looking into every nook and cranny of the title.
Valorant is a game that is often compared to other shooters, but in many ways, it may be redefining the sub-genre and making it its own. The ranked mode is just one thing that Riot Games looks to have really nailed from the looks of these leaks and the information that has been presented thus far, as players are truly enjoying the experience that they’ve gotten their hands on thus far.
There is so much to be excited about with Valorant. But to be fair, as the game is in a closed beta, and time will tell if Riot games will be able to stay the course and hold true to all of its promises. But so far, the game is looking like it may be a home run.
Valorant releases this summer on PC.
