The field at TPC San Antonio includes only 17 golfers who have qualified to play at Augusta, headlined by odds-on favorite Rickie Fowler (10-1).

That said, this weekend’s tournament can be a useful Masters tune-up for those who need it, with an automatic bid to Augusta awarded to its champion. Fowler, ranked No. 8 in the world, is the highest-ranked entry at the Texas Open but has struggled in back-to-back starts and skipped last week’s WGC-Dell Match Play.

In his last outing, Fowler finished in a tie for 47th at The Players Championship, so he’s among those most in need of a warmup. Tony Finau (16-1), Matt Kuchar (16-1) and Texas native Jordan Spieth (20-1) also make up the top end of the thin 144-player field in San Antonio.
