According to Salvo, the delay is due to the player’s agent and once that is sorted, both clubs will formally announce the deal.

“The agreement with Tottenham is total,” Salvo revealed to Las Provincias, regarding the Soldado transfer.

“A problem with the agents has emerged. [Once resolved] he will go.”

Soldado’s exit became apparent after when Valencia announced its travelling squad for their tour of the United States, leaving him out of it.

Valencia, at present, are preparing for their next match in the International Champions Cup, where they’ll take on the loser of the Chelsea versus Inter Milan match. Valencia lost to AC Milan in the opening match of the pre-season tournament, due to which they have to play the remainder of the tournament in the losers’ bracket.

Villas Boas has sought to strengthen Tottenham’s attacking force with Soldado’s signing, which currently has just Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor.
