V Rising: How to Get Whetstone
Before Building Grinder
As previously noted, Whetstones play a central role in creating Grinders in V Rising. As such, players will need to accumulate some of this material before they can build that workstation, and that will require them to venture out into the world. More specifically, survival game fans that are on the hunt for Whetstones in the early-game should target the various Bandit Strongholds that are scattered across the Farbane Woods.

Indeed, Whetstones, along with other important reagents in V Rising, can be found in the chests and looted from the bandits that are housed in these camps. To locate a Bandit Stronghold, players should simply look to their maps of the Farbane Woods, hovering their mouses over the various areas that are demarcated with yellow. This action will cause pop-ups that provide more information about the highlighted areas to appear, and Whetstones will be listed as “important loot” for the locations where the material can be found.
After Building Grinder
Once a player has collected the requisite components and constructed a Grinder, they will have the ability to craft Whetstones for themselves. While this crafting is not actually done in the Grinder, the workstation does produce one of the materials that is used in the process. That material is Stone Dust, a byproduct of turning Raw Stones into Stone Bricks, and indie video game fans can create Whetstones by putting 12 of these reagents into the Furnace alongside a Copper Ingot.
To note, players will need to unlock Whetstones before they can start crafting them. To do this, fans of crafting games should target a Level 27 boss known as Grayson the Armorer, who can be tracked through the Blood Altar. While players will be quite familiar with how to perform this type of tracking by the time that they reach this point in the game, they may have not noticed that the Armorer holds the key to crafting Whetstones.
V Rising is in early access on PC.
